Continence Resource Group: Support for Hostel and Residential Care Workers
This project studied the effect of a model of support and resource sharing in addressing the needs of staff employed within residential aged care services and improving continence management practices. A program was implemented using a context-based problem solving approach to networking and resource/information sharing between services.
The findings demonstrated that continence care and treatment practices in the participating facilities were improved via increased recognition and prioritising. The level of understanding of incontinence related issues by participants was also increased.
